New ‘FIFA Mobile’ mode puts the focus on strategy, not action

Would you rather oversee your FIFA Mobile team than control your players’ every last step? You now have your chance. EA has introduced a Manager Mode to the Android and iOS title that has you focusing on strategy and tactics rather than action. You choose the starting lineup, set the tactics in real-time (such as attacking or countering) and let your team play. You can even queue multiple matches as you climb the division ranks.

The corresponding game update also improves goalkeepers, adds player switching options and offers kits for 30 national teams. The upgrade is available now.

This doesn’t turn FIFA Mobile into a management sim like Football Manager. You aren’t scouting talent, shaping training programs or wrestling with the team’s board. Think of this more as the soccer equivalent to an auto battler like Auto Chess or Teamfight Tactics — it’s a slightly more relaxed experience that does more to reward situational awareness than fast reflexes.

A studio of ‘Witcher 3’ developers are making an online action game set in feudal Japan

A group of former CD Projekt Red developers is working on a new online action that will take players to feudal Japan. This week, Dark Passenger co-founders Jakub Ben and Marcin Michalski announced the formation of their studio and put out a call for talent in a series of tweets spotted by . Ben and Michalski were part of the art team that worked on The Witcher 3 and later went on to do contract work on Cyberpunk 2077.

Dark Passenger’s first game doesn’t have a name yet, but the studio’s website provides some details on the project. Ben and Michalski say they want to create an online multiplayer game with support for both competitive and cooperative play. They describe a title that sounds like it will borrow elements from games like Titanfall and Absolver. “Our locomotion system will allow players to perform incredible [feats] such as running on arrows that were fired by other players, fast climbing on vertical surfaces with the use of shuko claws or using [a] yari spear like a pole to jump over obstacles,” the studio said. “Engaging [in] close-ranged combat will demand as much dexterity as tactics and close cooperation with teammates.”

The news of the founding comes after former CDPR executive Konrad Tomaszkiewicz announced at the start of the year he was . He said his team would release its first project, a dark fantasy role-playing game built in Unreal Engine 5, sometime in 2025. After directing the critically acclaimed and contributing to Cyberpunk 2077, Tomaszkiewicz left CDPR in May 2021 . Before his departure, it came out that work on Cyberpunk involved a for many of its developers.

As PC Gamer points out, Dark Passenger’s careers page alludes to some of the criticisms of CDPR. “We create a prejudice-free environment based on tolerance, support and understanding. We treat individual needs as seriously as the group’s expectations,” the page states. “We provide all amenities, private medical care and paid overtime. With an emphasis on work-life balance, we offer flexible working hours and holidays.” As for when you can expect to play the studio’s first game, Dark Passenger has not shared a release date.

‘Aliens: Dark Descent’ is a single-player, squad-based action game coming in 2023

There’s a new entry in the xenomorph video game catalog, this one called Aliens: Dark Descent. It’s due out in 2023 from French studio Tindalos Interactive, Focus Entertainment and 20th Century Games. It’ll come to PlayStation 4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series consoles and PC.

Aliens: Dark Descent is a single-player, squad-based action game. Here’s how the game’s YouTube description reads: “Drop into an original Alien story where players will lead a squad of marines in real-time combat against the deadliest creature mankind has ever faced.”

Players will be able to customize their team’s weapons, armor and abilities, but the xenomorphs will adapt to these decisions. These space monsters are no idle threat, either — in this game, death is permanent for your squad.

“Embark on high stakes missions in treacherous territory, all the while gathering resources to fix up the stranded Otago spacecraft and researching tech upgrades for your crew,” the description continues. “Players will command a squad as one unit thanks to intuitive controls, allowing their Marines to automatically prioritize and execute complex actions in real-time, based on their respective skill sets and the environment around them.”

The new game made its debut with a cinematic trailer during the Summer Game Fest kickoff stream. In fact, it was the first game shown off in the entire show, which must make it feel nice and special.

The trailer shows a squad of Marines hunting and being hunted by a handful of xenomorphs, complete with plenty of gunfire, creeping monsters and interpersonal betrayal.

‘Zenless Zone Zero’ is a new action RPG from the studio behind ‘Genshin Impact’

developer Hoyoverse is working on a new project. On Friday, the studio shared the first trailer for Zenless Zone Zero, an action RPG set in a modern urban setting. Reminiscent of titles like  and Scarlett Nexus, the game pits players against Ethereal, monstrous creatures borne from another dimension. In a nod to , the action takes place in New Eridu, one of the few cities to survive the devastation wrought by the Ethereal.

As a “Proxy,” you’ll need to organize a disparate party of characters to battle the monsters. Hoyoverse hasn’t explicitly said how it plans to monetize Zenless Zone Zero, but it sounds like the game will employ a similar system to the one found in Genshin Impact. In other words, expect to use real-world money to improve your chances at obtaining some of the game’s most powerful party members. Zenless Zone Zero does not have a release date yet, but you can sign up to take part in the game’s closed iOS and PC beta by visiting its .

Gartner advises tech leaders to prepare for action as quantum computing spreads

Quantum computing has hit the radar of technical leaders, because of the huge efficiency it offers at scale. It will take years to develop for most applications, however, even as it makes limited progress in the near term in highly specialized fields of materials science and cryptography.

Quantum methods are gaining more rapid attention, however, with special tools for AI, as seen in recent developments around natural language processing that could open up the “black box” of today’s neural networks.

Last week’s release of a Quantum Natural Language Processing (QNLP) toolkit by Cambridge Quantum shows the new possibilities.

Known as lambeq, the kit takes the form of a conventional Python repository that is hosted on GitHub. It follows the arrival at Cambridge Quantum of noted AI and NLP researchers and affords the chance for hands-on experience in QNLP.

The lambeq package, which takes its name from late semantics researcher Joachim Lambek, is said to convert sentences into quantum circuits, offering a new view into text mining, language translation, and bioinformatics corpora.

Using quantum principles, NLP can provide explainability not possible in “bag of words” neural approaches done on classical computers today, according to Bob Coecke, the chief scientist at Cambridge Quantum. QNLP, he said, layers a compositional structure on circuits. As represented on schema, these structures do not look too unlike parsed sentences on grade-school blackboards.

Presently popular methods of NLP “don’t have an ability to compose things together to find a meaning,” Coecke told VentureBeat. “What we want to bring in is compositionality in the classical sense — to use the same compositional structure. We want to bring reasoning back.”

 Quantum computing timelines

Cambridge Quantum’s efforts to expand quantum infrastructure got significant backing earlier this year when Honeywell said it would merge its own quantum computing operations with Cambridge Quantum, to form an independent company to pursue cybersecurity, drug discovery, optimization, material science, and other applications, including AI.

Honeywell said it would invest between $270 million – $300 million in the new operation. Cambridge Quantum said it would remain independent, working with various quantum computing players, including IBM.

The lambeq work is part of an overall AI project that is the longest-term project among the efforts at Cambridge Quantum, said Ilyas Khan, founder, and CEO of Cambridge Quantum, in an e-mail interview.

“We might be pleasantly surprised in terms of timelines, but we believe that NLP is right at the heart of AI more generally and therefore something that will really come to the fore as quantum computers scale,” he said. Khan cited cybersecurity and quantum chemistry as the most advanced application areas in Cambridge Quantum’s estimation.

What kind of timeline does Khan see ahead for quantum hardware?

“There is a very well-informed consensus not only about the hardware roadmap,” he replied, citing Honeywell and IBM among credible corporate players in this regard.

These “and the very well amplified statement by Google about having fault-tolerant computers by 2029 are just some of the reasons why we say that the timelines are generally well-understood,” Khan said.

The march of quantum

Alliances, modeling advances, mergers, and even — in the cases of IonQ and Rigetti — public offerings comprise most of the quantum computing industry advancements of late.  Often hybrid couplings of quantum and classical computing features are involved.

New developments in the quantum industry include:

  • D-Wave, builders of a quantum annealing computer that carried forward much of the early research in the area, this year added constrained quadratic model solvers to hybrid tooling for problems that run across classical and quantum systems;
  • Rigetti Computing is working with Riverlane and Astex Pharmaceuticals to pair Rigetti’s quantum processors with cloud-based classical computing resources that, in effect, test quantum algorithms for drug discovery on a hybrid platform that mixes classical and quantum processing;
  • IBM said it would partner with European electric utility company E.ON to develop workflow solutions for future decentralized electrical grids using the open-source Qiskit quantum computing SDK and the IBM Cloud; and,
  • Sandbox, at Alphabet, has reportedly launched APIs that let developers use Google Tensor Processing Units to simulate quantum computing workloads.

Use case drill down

Indications are that, as researchers bounce between breakthroughs and setbacks, a variety of new quantum-inspired algorithms and software tools will appear. Enterprises need to pick targets carefully while treading some novel ground.

Gartner analyst Chirag Dekate emphasized that, where applicable, enterprises should begin to prepare for quantum computing. He spoke this week at Gartner IT Symposium/Xpo 2021 Americas.

He said companies should be sure not to outsource quantum innovation, but to instead use this opportunity to foster skills via small quantum working groups.

“Starting early is the surest form of success,” he said.

He said enterprise decision-makers must drill down on very specific use cases, as they prepare for quantum commercialization.

“Quantum computing is not a general-purpose technology — we cannot use quantum computing to address all the business problems that we currently experience,” Dekate told the assembled and virtual conference audiences.

Gartner’s Hype Cycle for Computing Infrastructure for 2021 has it that more than 10 years will elapse before quantum computing reaches the Plateau of Productivity. That’s the place where the analyst firm expects IT users to truly benefit from employing a given technology.

The assessment is the same as it was in 2020, as is quantum computing’s present post on the Peak of Inflated Expectations — Gartner’s designation for rising technologies that are considered overhyped.

NERF: Legends takes toys to video game realm for multiplayer action

Video games based on toy brands are nothing new, but today, Hasbro and GameMill Entertainment announced one of the most interesting titles we’ve seen in a while. Today the two companies announced NERF: Legends, a new arena shooter where the weapons are replaced by NERF guns. In it, players will go toe-to-toe against both each other and evil robots.

The game was first revealed by IGN today, which notes that NERF: Legends is intended to be a family-friendly FPS. Sadly, IGN’s write-up also confirms that the NERF guns in the game will fire energy rather than darts, so it looks like the NERF experience won’t fully translate to the realm of video games.

NERF: Legends will feature 19 different sci-fi-themed levels, but we’re not sure how much exploration is actually involved in the campaign. The single-player campaign is apparently comprised of “a variety of boss battles and challenges” according to IGN, and even though the guns won’t normally fire typical NERF darts, there are upgrades that will allow you to fire darts with certain special abilities. The four power-ups revealed today include pull darts, push darts, seeker darts, and slow darts.

Multiplayer battles will happen as either 4v4 team battles or free-for-all matches that support eight players in all. GameMill told IGN that NERF: Legends will offer cross-play support across all platforms and that there will be a total of 15 NERF blasters in the game.

NERF: Legends is the second title in the works at GameMill that’s based on big childrens’ properties, as the company is also publishing Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl. NERF: Legends is launching on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC this October.

Apex Legends Emergence Gameplay Trailer Shows Seer In Action

Today’s Apex Legends gameplay reveal trailer showed off next season’s big changes to the World’s Edge map, new skins for the upcoming battle pass, and more. The changes to World’s Edge, known as Decimated World’s Edge, include a complete rework of several map areas and major graphical updates. In addition to the new Rampage LMG weapon, which uses grenades as ammo, next season will feature new skins for Valkyrie, Lifeline, Horizon, and more.

Under the lore guise of a major climate disaster, World’s Edge has changed significantly. The Refinery area has been replaced with an area known as Climatizer, which brings significantly more loot and more areas to fight over. A large river of lava now runs all the way from Climatizer to Fragment East, making it more difficult to cross between zones. Sorting Factory has been replaced by Lava Siphon, which provides more of the walkable lava terrain.

Finally, Train Yard has been affected by a landslide, which has destroyed most of the existing buildings and forces players to fight out in the open more. In addition to these zone changes, Respawn is bringing back the spirit of the original map’s trains with new rideable gondolas.

The trailer gave a sneak peek at some of the character and weapon skins that will be available in the Emergence battle pass. Valkyrie is getting a new mecha-like purple skin, while Horizon is getting a similar outfit in blue.

Respawn is introducing new Arenas maps, including one of the lava-filled locations on World’s Edge, the base of Oasis in Olympus, and a shantytown in King’s Canyon. The trailer ended with a look at one of new character Seer’s finishing moves, which is a dramatic roundhouse kick.

Apex Legends season 10 launches on August 3.

Best Netflix VPN 2021: Watch the Action Unfold From Anywhere

It can be frustrating not to be able to access specific content on Netflix if you live in a different country, but by downloading some of the best Netflix VPNs, you can remedy that problem. Some countries employ harmful and restrictive censorship practices, limiting what type of media the citizens can consume. Others just don’t have a particular show or movie available due to copyright issues within the country. What if we told you that you could access all Netflix content in any country you want?

If you wanted to watch The Walking Dead in India, Attack on Titan in Germany, or Breaking Bad in India, you can do that with a VPN that works with Netflix. Different to the best VPNs out there, the best Netflix VPNs allow you to access restricted content while protecting your identity online and ensuring your connection doesn’t suffer speed dips.

NordVPN

  • Country of Registration: Panama
  • Supported Clients: iOS, Android, Windows, MacOS, Linux
  • Cost of Service: $12 per month
  • Simultaneous Connections: 6
  • Number of Countries: 62
  • Unlimited Data Bandwidth Globally

NordVPN is perhaps the most famous out there, and you can safely assume that if a product or service is that widely adopted and well-liked, then it’s safe and legitimate. As with most VPN services, NordVPN encrypts your connection with an AES 256-bit encryption, which many government agencies, militaries, and cybersecurity firms also use. You can be sure that you are completely obfuscated while accessing Netflix when using this service.

When looking for a VPN to watch Netflix, the most important factor to consider is the browsing speed. If you have to sit through constant buffering and shoddy picture quality, you’ve purchased the wrong VPN. NordVPN has some of the fastest speeds we’ve tested, even to the point that when testing our connection speed, we noticed that there wasn’t a dip at all.

If you’re on the fence about NordVPN, you can try it out risk-free with its 30-day money-back guarantee. That way, if, under any circumstance, you experience something you don’t like about the service, you’re free to cancel your subscription and ask for your money back. This also allows you to test NordVPN for yourself before fully committing to it.

IPVanish

  • Country of Registration: United States
  • Supported Clients: iOS, Android, Windows, macOS, Linux, Router firmware
  • Cost of Service: $10 per month
  • Simultaneous Connections: Unlimited
  • 24/7 Customer Service Live Chat
  • Unlimited Data Bandwidth Globally

IPVanish has 40,000+ IP addresses, 1600+ servers, and 75 locations you can connect to. Its reach covers the globe, and it has servers on all continents, so you can find a fast connection to a server near you wherever you reside. This is ideal when using a VPN to watch Netflix, as you need that proximity for the best streaming and browsing speeds.

To top that off, you can connect an unlimited amount of devices to your IPVanish account. If you want to watch Netflix on your phone, computer, or tablet, you’re free to do so (even simultaneously). Watching your favorite Netflix show in a moment of respite while on the go can be a great way to pass the time, but with a lot of other VPN services, you may find that you can’t because your account has reached the maximum number of connections. You’ll never have that issue with IPVanish.

Last but not least, there are no limitations to how much data you can use when connected to the IPVanish VPN. Once you’re a paying customer, you have unlimited access to the service. There are no limitations on accessing the P2P servers, no hard cap on how many gigabytes you can browse through—just an unfettered browsing experience.

ExpressVPN

  • Country of Registration: British Virgin Islands
  • Supported Clients: iOS, Android, Windows, macOS, Linux
  • Cost of Service: $13 per month
  • Simultaneous Connections: 5
  • 30-day Money-Back Guarantee
  • 160 VPN Servers in 94 Countries

ExpressVPN is another major titan in the VPN industry. The company doesn’t follow the standard procedures that others adhere to. Instead of dialing it in and using the same infrastructure as other VPN services, ExpressVPN developed its own set of protocols called Lightway. Lightway allows you to connect to any of ExpressVPN’s global servers in the blink of an eye while still providing elite protection. The unique thing about this feature is that if you lose signal or drop connection momentarily, Lightway will continue to protect your device.

With ExpressVPN, you have access to all global content at the click of a button. While it may not have as many servers as other services, each one guarantees a lightning-fast connection that will provide you with excellent streaming speeds. To complement the fast streaming speeds, you have access to unlimited bandwidth usage. There’s no need to worry about if you’re going to run out of data for a particular month—you get as much as you need!

While ExpressVPN is on the pricier side, we believe it’s a great Netflix VPN due to how fast and seamlessly it buffers media content. If you feel like you’re not satisfied with the service, you’re free to cancel your subscription and receive a refund with the 30-day money-back guarantee. But for those who need a VPN, we doubt you’ll be dissatisfied with ExpressVPN.

Hotspot Shield

  • Country of Registration: United States
  • Supported Clients: iOS, Android, Windows Phone, Windows, macOS, Linux
  • Cost of Service: $8 per month
  • Simultaneous Connections: 5
  • Streaming Mode Optimized for Netflix
  • Antivirus Program Included

Hotspot Shield is a VPN you’ll see aggressively marketed on the App Store as the perfect solution for iPhone users. While it certainly does an effective job at changing your IP address and protecting you online, not many people know that their subscription also comes with other online privacy solutions.

Hotspot Shield also developed an antivirus that gives you real-time protection from malware and other types of viruses. This service is only available with the premium subscription, but for $8 a month, that’s a steal. To top off the antivirus program, you have access to 24/7 support so you can receive professional help with any issues regarding the program.

Your premium subscription also gives you access to a password manager. If you’re a forgetful individual, or if you (rightfully) have different passwords for different websites, then this will be extra useful for you. Never forget your Netflix password again, and keep yourself safe and secure on the internet with Hotspot Shield’s premium subscription.

Get Hotspot Shield

Surfshark

  • Country of Registration: British Virgin Islands
  • Supported Clients: iOS, Android, Windows, macOS, Linux
  • Cost of Service: $13 per month
  • Simultaneous Connections: Unlimited
  • 3,200+ Servers in 65 Countries
  • Unlimited Bandwidth

Many internet Service Providers (ISPs) throttle bandwidth, which decreases speeds. In that case, a VPN can increase your connection speed as it unlocks all limitations imposed by your ISP and allows you to access the internet as intended. Surfshark’s service provides you with unlimited bandwidth with no data limitations, so you can access the internet and watch Netflix undisturbed. If you have an ISP that doesn’t throttle speeds, you could experience a 20-30% decrease in speed when connected to this VPN. In the end, it really comes down to the integrity of your ISP.

CleanWeb is Surfshark’s adblocker that comes bundled with the VPN subscription. You’re essentially getting two excellent data protection features in one subscription. By blocking out malware and protecting you from phishing attempts, CleanWeb trims all unnecessary data when you’re browsing the web, which in turn boosts your browsing speeds and reduces the amount of data you’re using.

The most enticing part about Surfshark that makes it such a great VPN to watch Netflix is that you can use the service on an unlimited amount of devices on most clients. You can connect your family and friends’ devices to your subscription and protect them all. They can connect to Surfshark’s VPN all at the same time, too, with unlimited bandwidth. Now that’s a bang for your buck.

PrivadoVPN

  • Country of Registration: Switzerland
  • Supported Clients: iOS, Android, Windows, macOS, Linux
  • Cost of Service: $8 per month
  • Simultaneous Connections: 6
  • Free 10 Gbps Data Every Month
  • Kill Switch Function for Constant Protection

PrivadoVPN was founded in 2020 and is one of the newer and more underground choices on this list. Despite that, it boasts an array of protection features to help you watch Netflix content safely and securely. Many customers love using PrivadoVPN because it’s one of the only VPNs out there that gives you free data monthly. And it doesn’t give you a measly amount either — you’re entitled to 10Gbps monthly!

Easily bypass government censorship and unlock geo-blocked Netflix content with the switch of a button. The great thing about PrivadoVPN is that if you live in a restrictive country, even if your connection waivers and your connection drops momentarily, it will continue to protect you even if you’re offline.

Finally, you have access to 24/7 support for any queries and issues. For the price of $8 per month, PrviadoVPN provides a very well-rounded and complete service that caters to every customer’s needs. We loved testing out this service, and if you’re on a tight budget, we recommend PrivadoVPN for that enticing free 10Gbps monthly data.

Get PrivadoVPN

ProtonVPN

  • Country of Registration: Switzerland
  • Supported Clients: iOS, Android, Windows, Mac, Linux
  • Cost of Service: $8 per month
  • Simultaneous Connections: Up to 10
  • 4 Different Subscription Plans Including Free Service
  • 1,251+ Servers in 55 Countries

ProtonVPN is a protection-first VPN, and its priority is protecting its customers while online. The most remarkable thing about this company is its physical servers are located in an ultra-secure Swiss army fallout shelter 1,000 meters below surface level. How many companies can say that about their level of dedication to security? On top of that, ProtonVPN is independently audited and open-source, meaning anyone can verify the claims the company makes.

But does it makes a good Netflix VPN? It’s great if you live in a country where the free and open internet is a dangerous ideology, yes. In terms of streaming speeds, though, ProtonVPN also excels. Regardless of which country you reside in, you’ll be able to find a server near you, seeing as ProtonVPN has servers in 55 countries across the globe. When connected, you can achieve speeds of up to 10Gbps, so you’ll never have a laggy Netflix stream.

If you value protection, privacy, and security, we wholly recommend ProtonVPN. It’s evident the development team over there puts a lot of effort into protecting its customers. From the Tor support built into the service to the no-log policy to the kill switch functionality, you can always feel safe when connected with this VPN.

How to choose the best Netflix VPN

In today’s digital world, many VPNs on the market promise the same features but are bundled and marketed differently. Admittedly, some services out there on the internet are dangerous and can do more harm than good, but the list we compiled above are all some of the best VPNs for Netflix. So we advise you to stay within the confines of this post when researching which companies are the best for you — you can never be too careful with where you spend your money.

Apart from that, the choice is largely up to which features you value the most in a VPN. When picking a VPN that works with Netflix, you may want to focus on the service’s connection speeds, supported devices, and which countries it has servers in. This ensures that you have high connection speeds, and you’re able to watch content in different countries.

If you feel that privacy and security are your qualms when watching Netflix (due to being in a country that practices censorship or restricts content), then you should choose the service that best accommodates your worries. When picking a VPN based on its ability to protect your identity, it is crucial that you pick one that explicitly states that it does not give your information to the state and one that employs 256-bit AES encryption. The reason why 256-bit encryption keys are essential is that even if an intruder had access to the most powerful supercomputer that hasn’t even been built yet, they still wouldn’t have enough time in the universe to reveal your identity.

So, while we strongly encourage you to do your own research, you can rest assured that the Digital Trends team has spent a significant amount of time researching what makes the best VPN for Netflix.

How to use a VPN on Netflix

So you’ve purchased a subscription to a VPN you feel comfortable with. Now you just have to know how to use the VPN to watch Netflix. To do this, you’ll have to change your Netflix region. It sounds complicated, but if you have a reliable VPN, everything will proceed without a hitch.

This may not be common knowledge, but some countries don’t have access to certain titles due to region-specific copyright negotiations. A contract between Netflix and a studio regarding a particular movie may make sense and is profitable in the United States, but that might not translate well to a UK audience. So what a VPN does is mask your actual IP location and change it to one in a country or server that you choose. If you’re traveling abroad and want to view content from your home country, just connect your VPN to a server in your home country and binge away!

There’s one caveat that may disrupt your viewing experience, though. Netflix can easily detect a bad VPN connection. While there’s nothing illegal about connecting to Netflix via a VPN (we’ll go more in-depth below), it is technically in the Terms of Service that it can terminate your account if it suspects you are altering your geographical location. Netflix has never done this, though, and shows no intentions of starting anytime soon. If Netflix catches you using a subpar VPN, it’ll just show an error page, and you won’t be able to watch any content. Revert to your normal IP, and you can resume.

Is using a Netflix VPN legal?

As mentioned above, using a VPN to watch Netflix is completely legal. There have never been any cases where an individual was punished for using a VPN to alter their geographical location to access Netflix. For the time being, it doesn’t seem as if the company will change its stance on legally punishing those who use VPNs to access their platform—it’s a trivial issue for Netflix, and millions of users do it daily.

It is, however, technically against Netflix’s terms and conditions, and it has the right to terminate your account at any point in time if it suspects you’re breaking its rules.

You also agree not to circumvent, remove, alter, deactivate, degrade or thwart any of the content protections in the Netflix service; use any robot, spider, scraper or other automated means to access the Netflix service… We may terminate or restrict your use of our service if you violate these Terms of Use or are engaged in illegal or fraudulent use of the service.

Netflix ToS 4.6

If you get caught using a VPN to watch Netflix, you’ll be met with an error message, and you won’t be able to access any content. Simply turning the VPN off and refreshing the page will fix the error.

All in all, it’s highly unlikely, and maybe even impossible, that Netflix will terminate your account over the use of a VPN. If the company were serious about punishing individuals who do, it would follow a similar business model as Hulu or HBO, where it completely restricts access to only content available in your country.

Why you might want to use a VPN to watch Netflix

Most of Netflix’s subscribers reside in countries with free and open internet, so they don’t have to worry about their government spying on and punishing them for accessing foreign content. In countries like China, Iran, and other totalitarian regimes, access to Netflix is severely restricted, if not blocked completely. A VPN can provide an internet user with access to unlimited knowledge and services to change their lives. People with an open internet primarily worry about access to geo-locked content. However, for those less unfortunate than us, a VPN is important and sometimes even necessary.

Another reason why you may want to use a VPN when binge-watching your favorite show is security and protection. If you’re connected to an unsecured or public Wi-Fi, a VPN’s encryption can help keep you safe and sound, so you only have to worry about what your favorite protagonist is going through in the show you’re watching.

Gundam Evolution trailer delivers 6v6 PvP FPS action at last: What took so long?

Over the past decade, Esports exploded and games like Overwatch and DOTA 2 sat at the center of high-end spectator-friendly action. PvP games of all sorts have been popular since the internet made it possible to play with friends from home, and since the dawn of the mech, folks around the world have dreamt of commanding their own battle bot. What’s taken Bandai Namco so long to put all the pieces together?

The game Gundam Evolution isn’t the first of its kind – there’ve been PvP mech games before. There’ve been games that look like this, feel like this, and play like this before. But they’ve not been GUNDAM.

This is like saying there’ve been games out there in the world where you can find and fight tiny animals, but they’re not Pokemon. Gundam is the long-lasting fan-favorite brand universe that’s been at the center of the mecha universe since it effectively invented the “real robot” mecha anime genre back in 1979.

If you’re in search of the most epic and fantastic PvP FPS mech suit game in the world today, you’ll want to check out Titanfall. It’s not Gundam, but if you’ve not played it before and have been waiting to get inside a mech your whole life, that’s the one you should look at first. THEN let’s take a peek at Gundam Evolution as it heads toward release in early 2022.

The game Gundam Evolution will begin its public life with a Closed Beta starting on August 8, 2021. There’ll be a recruitment period from July 15 (today) to August 2, and the creators of the game are looking for approximately 5k users (in Japan, first) to test the game.

Bandai Namco will deliver a new Gundam Evolution presentation on July 17 with early gameplay. There’ll be some chat about the creation of the game, about the game as it exists today, and about where they’re planning on heading with the game. The embedded YouTube above this paragraph will show that presentation as such – stay tuned and take a peek!

Watch Super Smash Bros Ultimate’s next DLC fighter, Kazuya, in action right here

Nintendo opened its E3 2021 show by revealing the next DLC fighter for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. The roster will soon be joined by Kazuya, one of the main characters from the Tekken franchise. As Kazuya is heading to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate from another fighting game series, there’s been a lot of interest in seeing his moveset and fighting style. Today, we got all that and then some in a new live stream from Ultimate director Masahiro Sakurai.

As he’s done during each of these “Mr. Sakurai Presents” live streams, Sakurai spent a long time today discussing Kazuya’s abilities. You can view the presentation in its entirety below – the actual live stream begins at the 29 minute and 30-second mark – but the long and short of it is that Kazuya will use his Devil’s Power for multiple moves in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. Specifically, Sakurai says that we’ll see Kazuya transform using his Devil’s Power during some jumps, smash attacks, and special moves.

Just as every DLC character that came before him, Kazuya will be bundled with a new stage called Mishima Dojo. Mishima Dojo doesn’t come with any platforms, but it does have walls and ceilings that can be broken. Kazuya will also come packed with 39 tracks from the Tekken series, so there are a lot of bonuses coming along with this DLC fighter.

Kazuya will be available on June 29th as part of the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Fighters Pass Vol. 2 or as a standalone purchase in Challenger Pack 10, which runs $5.99. Fighters Pass Vol. 2 costs $29.99 and, aside from Kazuya, features Min Min from ARMS, Steve & Alex from Minecraft, Sephiroth from Final Fantasy VII, Pyra/Mythra from Xenoblade Chronicles 2, and one more fighter that hasn’t been revealed yet. That upcoming character is probably the last DLC fighter we’ll see for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, so expect it to be a big one.

In addition to detailing Kazuya’s kit today, Sakurai also announced a new batch of Mii Fighter costumes launching the same day. We’re getting new costumes based on Shantae, Lloyd Irving from Tales of Symphonia, Dante from Devil May Cry, and the Dragonborn from Skyrim, and you can see them all in the trailer above.
