The latest sale includes Elden Ring and a number of other popular PS5, Xbox and Nintendo Switch titles, so you can pick up a handful of games that have been on your wishlist for a while without spending too much money. Just go to the overall sale page here and filter by video games on the left sidebar to see all of the included titles.

Shop Amazon 3-for-2 sale

If you somehow haven’t picked up Elden Ring yet, you can do so now — and not only is it included in this 3-for-2 sale, but both the PS5 and Xbox versions are $10 off their usual price, bringing them both down to $50. There’s a similar deal for Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga: both the PS5 and Xbox games are included in the sale and they are both $15 off, so you can get them for $45 each. Sifu: Vengeance Edition for PS5 is also eligible for this sale, but you’ll find it at its standard price of $50.

As far as Nintendo games go, you can pick up Nintendo Switch Sports for $48 in this sale, along with Kirby and the Forgotten Land, Triangle Strategy, Ori: The Collection and others. The ‘Alan Wake’ remaster is coming to Nintendo Switch

Fans of Alan Wake aren’t getting an update on the sequel this summer — but can look forward to a new TV series and a remastered version of the original game for the Switch. Remedy Entertainment’s creative director Sam Lake today revealed what’s in store for the franchise during the game’s 12th-anniversary celebration . Switch owners can anticipate Alan Wake Remastered to be available on Nintendo’s eShop sometime this fall. The remastered original title is already available on the PS5, Xbox and PC.

The original 2010 Alan Wake game — which features a thriller novelist who tries to solve the mystery of his wife’s disappearance — has become a cult classic in recent years. Remedy and Microsoft Studios then released Alan Wake’s American Nightmare in 2012. Since then, the franchise has mostly been dormant, but that’s about to change.

Lake revealed that AMC bought the rights to the Alan Wake franchise and will be adapting it into a TV series. “We have been collaborating on making a TV show happen. Nothing more to share at the moment, but we will certainly let you know when there is something to announce,” said Lake.

Alan Wake 2, which many expected to preview this summer, is currently deep in the development stages. Unfortunately, Lake confirmed that the studio won’t be releasing any further updates on the game. It did release a number of from the upcoming sequel. As we’ve known for a while, the game is slated to in 2023 for PS5 and other platforms.

“Everything [with Alan Wake 2] is going really well, and a great deal of the game is playable,” Lake said. “But we’ve been talking for the past couple of months and have come to a decision that we will not be showing anything big this summer,” said Lake.

Alan Wake devotees should watch the anniversary video in full, which also includes interesting behind-the-scene details about the remastered original and upcoming sequel. You can watch it below:

The Fascinating History Of Nintendo

For those of you out there who might not recognize the name, you probably know him better as (one of) the creator(s) of Donkey Kong, Super Mario Bros. and The Legend of Zelda. Though he can’t be showered with all of the credit for those games by himself, it was his contributions of concentrating on gameplay rather than high scores, and employing a non-linear approach, which eventually made those games into the groundbreaking classics they became.

He drew his inspiration from his experiences as a boy gallivanting around Kyoto, where he explored nearby fields, woods, and caves; each game he worked on embodies this sense of exploration.

“When I was a child”, Miyamoto said, “I went hiking and found a lake. It was quite a surprise for me to stumble upon it. When I traveled around the country without a map, trying to find my way, stumbling on amazing things as I went, I realized how it felt to go on an adventure like this.”

To top off this experience, his family’s home with its maze of sliding doors provided the necessary inspiration for Zelda’s labyrinthine dungeons. (Via “The History of Zelda” accessed through Gamespot).

Speaking of groundbreaking… in all this excitement over iconic characters, we’re getting a bit ahead of ourselves here. Let’s back up a little to take a look at the system which would give these creations a platform to truly shine…

How to Connect Airpods to Your Nintendo Switch

Apple AirPods are quite commonplace at this point because of their ease of use and convenience. Many households likely have a variety of electronics that allow you to pair AirPods to them, such as modern consoles. Connecting your AirPods to a system like the Nintendo Switch is as easy as syncing them to your iPhone, thanks to a recent software update that enables Bluetooth.

If you’ve tried to sync your AirPods to your Switch in the past, you probably had some issues. Previously, the only way to use any Bluetooth device on Switch was with a third-party dongle, but now the process is a lot more streamlined. This guide includes all the steps you’ll need for using your AirPods with Nintendo Switch — whether you’re using the original model, the OLED, or the Switch Lite.

How to connect AirPods to Nintendo Switch

You can connect your AirPods to your Nintendo Switch in just a few short steps:

Step 1: The first thing you need to do is ensure your Switch has the latest update installed.

Step 2: Once it’s updated, open up the Switch System Settings by clicking the Gear icon on the bottom-right of the screen. From here, navigate toward the bottom to Bluetooth Audio.

Step 3: Select that, and then click Pair Device.

Step 4: On your AirPods case, press and hold the Sync button on the back (or front, depending on the model) with the lid open, and after a few seconds, it will appear on the list within the Nintendo Switch menu.

Step 5: To ensure it’s syncing, look for a flashing white light on the front of the AirPods case. In our case, “Jojo’s AirPods” appears, as shown below.

Step 6: Select your AirPods from the list, and you’ll be ready to go!

Now you’re connected

There are a couple of things to note about doing this. Once you’ve successfully paired your AirPods, you won’t need to do it again. The next time you want to use them, simply wear the AirPods, and this time, when you visit the Bluetooth Audio menu, you’ll see your device available.

Step 1: Select them on the screen, and then press A.

Step 2: You’ll then be taken to a new menu where you can choose Connect Device or Remove Device.

Step 3: Select Connect Device to start using the AirPods. If done successfully, it’ll say “connected to Bluetooth audio.”

Step 4: Press OK, and you’ll be all set! You’ll now notice a blue checkmark to the right of that device on the menu.

Step 5: To disconnect the device, you’ll simply need to select your AirPods and then click Disconnect Device. This won’t unpair them, but it will instead turn them off so you can use your AirPods elsewhere.

Step 6: To completely remove them, click the device and then navigate to Remove Device.

Step 7: To adjust the volume of your AirPods, use the volume buttons on the Nintendo Switch itself.

Step 8: Alternatively, if you’re playing docked or in tabletop mode, press and hold the Home button on your controller, and a menu will appear on the right side of the screen.

Step 9: Scroll down to the audio section, and you can change the volume with the slider.

A hacker named Bowser agrees to pay Nintendo $10 million to settle a civil piracy suit

A Canadian hacker named Gary Bowser (yes, like Mario’s nemesis) has agreed to pay the company $10 million to settle . Bowser, who was part of Switch hacking group Team Xecuter, was accused of being part of a “cybercriminal enterprise that hacked leading gaming consoles,” as notes. Nintendo argued Bowser violated the company’s copyright and it seems the hacks were not in another castle.

News of the settlement emerged several weeks after Bowser pleaded guilty to . He was fined $4.5 million in that case and faces up to 10 years in prison. Bowser, who was arrested in the Dominican Republic in October 2020 and deported to the US, admitted to having “developed, manufactured, marketed, and sold a variety of circumvention devices” that let people play ROMs on consoles.

What are the best Nintendo Switch games?

The Nintendo Switch offers a wide variety of games that cater to different age groups and preferences, so among the many Nintendo Switch game deals, there’s surely at least one for you. There are too many amazing titles to mention for the console, but here are five of the best Nintendo Switch games that you shouldn’t hesitate to pick up if they appear in Nintendo Switch game sales.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild

Link going up against a monster in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild was launched alongside the Nintendo Switch in 2017, but more than four years later, it’s still one of the console’s most popular titles. The open-world game still places you in control of the series protagonist, Link, as you gather tools and build up your skills to save Princess Zelda and Hyrule. You’ll need to master a combat system unlike anything you’ve seen from previous titles in the franchise, while delicately balancing survival elements that include temperature, stamina, and food. Dungeons and puzzles are back, but bigger than ever, woven into a story that will get you hooked until the final showdown. There are a lot of things to do and even more things to discover — there’s simply nothing like The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, especially for fans of the series.

Super Mario Odyssey

One of the puzzles in Super Mario Odyssey, involving birds.

The first Mario game for the Nintendo Switch, Super Mario Odyssey is a nostalgic trip through the history of the long-running franchise, while also staying accessible for newcomers. The 3D platformer is filled with callbacks to older Mario games, but introduces new mechanics such as Cappy, Mario’s new companion who he can throw to knock off enemies and activate switches, while also enabling the ability to capture creatures to acquire their abilities. The story is familiar — save Princess peach from Bowser — but to do that, you’ll have to collect Power Moons scattered across different worlds to power his ship, the Odyssey. After completing the story, the endgame of Super Mario Odyssey offers many more hours of gameplay as you go back to the kingdoms you’ve previously visited in search of the remaining Power Moons.

Ring Fit Adventure

Character running in one of the levels in Ring Fit Adventure.

Nintendo is known for its innovations in the gaming industry, such as the hybrid capabilities of the Nintendo Switch as a docked console and a handheld device. Ring Fit Adventure continues Nintendo’s innovations, as the game comes with a ring and leg strap where the Joy-Cons slot in. Instead of pressing buttons, you’ll be squeezing and moving the ring, and jumping and running while wearing the leg strap, to get your character to get through challenges and complete levels. There are also turn-based battles where you’ll be performing different exercises in order to defeat your enemies. Ring Fit Adventure makes workouts fun, as you’re doing the exercises in order to save the world from a giant dragon named Dragaux.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons

Character holding net in Animal Crossing: New Horizons.

In Animal Crossing: New Horizons, you’ll have complete control over all the details of an island, which you can customize according to your own preferences. You can change the terrain, fill your house with clothing and furniture, create bridges, and so much more, as long as you have enough materials. You can even visit the islands of other players and interact with them. In addition, the game’s graphics are visually stunning, with appropriate textures, improved character models, and deeper attention to detail. There’s no “winning” in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, as it’s a relaxing experience where you’re virtually allowed to do anything within the game’s massive sandbox.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate

Characters fighting in Super Smash Bros Ultimate.
Nintendo

The latest entry in the Super Smash Bros. fighting franchise, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate includes every single character who’s appeared in the series, so you don’t have to worry that your favorite fighter didn’t make the cut. You don’t have access to all of them right away, but you’ll enjoy unlocking them one by one through random challenges while you play through modes like World of Light, a campaign mode that takes you to iconic locations. The game’s premise is still the same though — take some of the most popular video game characters, not just from Nintendo but also from other developers, and let them duke it out in chaotic matches that can include up to eight players. Whether you’re playing on the couch or online, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is definitely a smashing good time.
